·   Be sure to sign up with your adviser or Avid teacher to participate in the week’s BOOST 
activities after school on Wednesday. Crafts, cooking, yoga, board games, and more are being 
offered for your enjoyment. To kick off Boost, one lucky participant will win a $25 Starbucks card!

·   The poetry club will continue to meet every Monday after school in Mrs. Utley’s room and the 
MESA club will continue to meet on Tuesdays, at 3:30 pm, in Ms. Carver’s room. Volleyball open gym will continue every Thursday after school at 3:45 pm in the gym.  Come join in the fun!!

·   Have you looked at the main lobby display case lately? Stop by and look at the new hoodies that 
are for sale. They are only $25.00 and the order forms are due by the end of Feb. Show some school spirit and get your hoodie ordered today!

·    What makes a yearbook great? Why great pictures of course! Help the yearbook staff make this 
year’s edition of the yearbook the best yet by sharing your photos. We are looking for photos of 
you and your friends at school or any school event. Look for posters around Building 50 for the 
link to upload pictures from your phone, tablet, or computer using your school Google account. If 
you need any help just ask Ms. Dayson, Mr. Farmer, or any of the friendly yearbook staff for 

·   On Jan. 9th , CTEC will be here to make a presentation about their program for all Teen Parents. 
ECHS students please talk to your counselor about attending the meeting, if you are interested.

·   The next blood drive will be held on Jan. 11th, help save lives by watching for blood drive 
posters and signing up in the main office or with Steppan to donate. The blood bank is at an all 
time low at this time, please spread the word! Parents are welcome to donate too… THere will be 
long-sleeve t-shirts and donuts for those who donate!

- There will be a Building 50 Parent/Grandparent Committee Meeting this Thursday evening on Jan. 
11th at 6:30 PM in the Library, please encourage your parents, grandparents, or guardians to 
attend.  This is open to all Early College and Teen Parent parents and grandparents.

· We will be having an AVID 10 career fair on Jan. 12th during first period. Come check out the 
careers that our sophmores have been researching about, you never know one of these careers might 
be for you.

-There will be a mandatory senior graduation for meeting for both ECHS and TPP this Friday, Jan. 
12th at 9:00 am in Room 117. We will be going over important graduation information and handing out 
cap and gown order forms.

- Early College High School applications for incoming freshman will be available starting on Jan. 
12th. They will also be available on our website.

-There will be no school on Monday, Jan. 15th- It is Martin Luther King Day!  Enjoy a three day 
weekend! :)

· Our next Friday Night Live will be on Jan. 19th, it will be a sports themed evening and a 
valentine themed craft night, invite your friends or come make a new friend, and plan now to 
attend!  If you are in need of childcare, please see Tami in the main office. You must sign up in 
advance in order for childcare to be available.

·  How about joining me to be a Building 50 ROLE Model this new year. The great part, is it is easy 
by being:
o   Respectful and Responsible,
o   On time and Organized
o   Listening and Learning and
o   Embracing Hard Work.
