Monday Announcements for December 10th

● “Are you interested in drama? Do you like the idea of performing on stage? You might enjoy “Poetry Out Loud.” Poetry Out Loud competitors memorize and perform three poems in a school-wide competition. The winner of the school competition may progress to regional, state, and national contests. Come to Creative Writing Club for more information. Mrs. Utley’s Room (152) after school on Thursdays. 

● Spirit week is coming soon!!  It will go from Dec. 17th to the 21st.  The days have been decided and are as follows: 
  • Monday- Comfort Clothes Day  (PJs or sweats) 
  • Tuesday- Crazy Hat Day 
  • Wednesday- Ugly Sweater Day 
  • Thursday- Candy Cane Day (wear red and white) 
  • Friday- Holiday Day (your favorite holiday) 

● Do you like exploring new cultures? Do you like KPop, KDramas, or Korean Language? Then come join the new K-CLub. We meet on Thursdays from 3:30-4:15 in the Library. See you there ….  

● Did you know we have several clubs meeting weekly in our building?  We have Magic Mondays after school in Kresner’s room, Math team during lunch on Tuesdays in Williams room, MESA after school on Tuesdays in Carver’s room, Wednesday groups for Teen moms after school, Creative Writing Club meets on Thursdays after school in Utley’s room, and our newest club, Anime Club will meet Fridays after school in Abraham’s room.  Visit with one of these teachers, and join in the fun!  

● Our first Blood Drive is coming up this Wed, Dec. 12th, if you are under 16 years of age, you will need a signed release form, if you are 16 years or older, you don’t need a release form.  Please sign up in the office or with one of our Blood drive reps to donate and help save lives!! 

● Teen Parents- you have some awesome guest speakers coming up this month.  Please check with your teachers for dates and who will be speaking to your Advisory classes.  Thank you to Rachel Moreno for setting up the meetings! 

● Good news!  The coin drive for the Leukemia and lymphoma “coin drive” has been extended for another week, it will now run until the end of this week, the 14th of Dec.!!   I am also hearing a rumor that we now have some very lucky participants for our coin drive challenge.  We have for the freshman, Mr. Williams, for the soph, Ms. Carver, for the juniors, Ms. Dayson, and for the seniors, Mr. Clark!  The winner will face off against the loser during our upcoming Winterfest.  I am hearing something about Sumo suits or dinosaur costumes, or something like that.  Right now, the soph are in the lead, so come find the collection boxes in the main office and the library and add your coins!  Let’s work together to make our school’s goal, for a great program!!  We are well over $100, so please Bring in those coins!!  

● Winterfest is coming up on Dec. 21st!  It is a fun activity filled afternoon, stay tuned for more details!!  It has been a building 50 tradition for quite a few years! 

● Attention Graduating Seniors, we will be hosting a “Grad Party” parent/student meeting here at our school tomorrow,  Dec. 
11th from 5:30 - 6:15 pm in the library.  Plan now to attend with a parent or guardian to hear all the details for an amazing Grad party!!  

● Santa Grams are coming soon to a lobby near you, stay tuned for more details!! 

● Save the Date!!  Our next Friday Night Live is coming up on Jan. 18th!!  It will be called “Winter White Out” and will be a black light party.  Start planning now to attend and wear all white!  For ECHS students, you will earn community engagement hours and for Teen Parent, there will be free childcare!  It will be only $3.00 and Sign-ups will start after our Winter break!
