● Rested and relaxed, we hope you enjoyed a few days away from school. As we start the 2nd six weeks of 1st trimester, this is your time to regroup, reset, and tackle those goals you set earlier in the year. Keeping this focus and staying on track you will see great results and continue to be the great Building 50 ROLE Model you are. Keep up the great work and focus.

● Have you seen the Friday Night Live “Monster Mash” fliers and showcase around the building? Get your costumes ready for this Friday, Oct. 19th from 7-9:30 pm. We will have a costume contest with prizes, carnival style games, prize wheel, DJ with special effects lighting, Halloween bingo and games. We will also have food and drinks, for the low cost of $3.00.Tickets will go on sale during both lunches starting today and this week. We want to see you all there!!

● Boo Grams go on sale starting today during both lunches! Start to think of who’s day you would like to brighten with a little bit of Boo! They will be on sale until Halloween.

● Photo make up day is coming up this coming Thursday. If you are not pleased with the photo you had taken or have not had a professional photo taken, this day is for you! We will also be taking mom and baby photos for our Teen moms. If you are having re-takes done, remember to bring back your photo packet of your unwanted photos.

● Building 50 will participate in the Great Oregon Shakeout at 10:18 on October 18. You will be instructed to "drop, cover and hold" followed by an evacuation drill. This is only a drill.

● This is to prepare all campuses on what to do in the event of a natural disaster, specifically a large earthquake.

● Locker reminder- Please do not leave food overnight in your locker. Check daily to make sure you are keeping it cleaned out. Thank you for doing your part to keep our halls smelliness free.

● It is very important to wear your ID lanyards every day. With multiple programs in our building, it is a must. If you have lost your ID card, please see Mrs. Garibay in the main office for a replacement badge.

● Interesting in enhancing your writing skills. Between 2 Worlds is a wonderful writers conference to do just that. The conference is open to 10th through 12th graders, takes place November 7, and is during the entire school day. Lunch and transportation from Building 50 are provided. See Karen Utley in room 152 as soon as possible, for more details and how to sign up.

● Creative Writing Club has moved to Thursdays after school, come join in, in Mrs. Utley’s room!

● TPP- Get ready for another great year of the Kindergarten Readiness workshops. The first one will be here on Oct. 25th, contact Jenny or Julie for more information.

● I matter. You matter. We matter. ILEAD Youth Leadership Summit invites high school students from Marion and Polk Counties to meet up on November 3rd to talk about our brain’s health and why it matters. ILEAD is FREE and provides bus transportation to the summit. If you want to snag some information on how to cope with life better and help others too, join us! Pick up a registration packet in room 125 or ask Rachel Moreno for more details.

● “Between 2 Worlds” is an outstanding writer’s conference open to all 10th through 12th graders. This year’s event is Wednesday Nov 7th and includes lunch, transportation, and will take up the whole school day. Please see Karen Utley in room 152 for more details.
