ECHS Application Timeline for 2026

Counselor Presentations to middle schools:  January 5 – February 17

ECHS 8th Grade Open House February 19, 6:00 -7:30

Applications and Recommendations for incoming 9th graders are due to ECHS no later than March 10.  Any applications received after March 10, will be considered second round applicants.

Interviews TBD

Decision letters mailed by April 17

Application due date for incoming sophomores April 17

Registration packets due back May 8

Application ProcessEarly College High School (ECHS) is a non-traditional school option for students within the Salem-Keizer School District.  In partnership with Chemeketa Community College, Salem-Keizer offers ECHS to students in grades 9-12.  They will enroll in college preparatory high school courses with the option to begin attending CCC classes their junior and/or senior year at the expense of the school district.

In order to be considered for ECHS an applicant must demonstrate passing grades with a C or better, good attendance, and be a positive role model.

Incomplete applications will not be processed

  4. School Counselor Recommendation

Final Candidates

Final candidates will be invited to an interview.  Interviews will take place at the student's middle school in late March/early April.
