Monday Announcements for June 10th

Students: Please remember to return all library materials, textbooks, calculators, Chromebooks with cases and cords as soon as you are finished with them.

  • The sooner the better.
  • Fines have been created for any items that are currently checked out to you.
  • As soon as these items are returned in good condition, fines will disappear!
  • Chromebooks for ECHS students will be returned with AVID classes unless other arrangements are made.
  • Please remember cords and cases!
  • Come see Rediger in the library if you have any questions!

● Yearbooks were distributed last week, and boy are they awesome! We have a very few extra copies available on a first come, first serve basis. They will be sold for $30.00. Please stop by the main office to inquire about purchasing one today!
● Finals are coming up! Finals will be this coming Wednesday and Thursday, June 12th and 13th. Your last day of school is Thursday, June 13th. Can you believe that?
● Please make sure your address and phone numbers are correct before summer break. We do mailers home and we don’t want you to miss out on important information.
● If you are interested in being on student council next year, applications will be available at our Taking Care of Business Day on August 15th through Sept. 30th, we hope you will apply.
● This is our last announcements of the year. Your student council members have enjoyed doing the announcements this year, and we plan to continue next year. Thank you for listening!

● Welcome back, we hope you had a good extra day off and enjoyed your Memorial Day weekend.
 
● Are you an uniquely diverse student from building 50 who would value serving on the district wide high school committee!? If you are interested, please stop by the main office and pick up a committee application for 2019-2020 school year, the applications are due by June 28th. They would like two students to serve on this committee from each high school.
 
● Thank you to all that performed in our Building 50 talent show last Friday! You all did an amazing job!! What about Mr. Williams and Mr. Kresner, they definitely have talent?! We also would like to thank Madi Otten, our senior student council member for helping to organize the Talent Show this year. If you missed out on performing this year, we plan to make this an annual event, so stay tuned for the date for next year’s show!

Are you a uniquely diverse student from building 50 who would value serving on the district wide high school committee? Head Start Summer Care

Teen Parent Students- This Wednesday will be a very important Wednesday class. All teen parent students should attend. If your child is currently in Early Head Start, it is mandatory that you attend, especially if you want summer care. Community Action Early Head Start will be here to answer questions about enrolling your child into Early Head Start here if you are attending TPP next year. They will answer questions about enrolling your child into Early Head Start or Head Start in the community if you are graduating. Most importantly, there will be snacks! See you on Wednesday at 2:30pm in room 126!

Building 50 talent show

Are you an entertainer or like entertaining a crowd? Our student council is holding Building 50 talent show on May 24th! You could sing a song, play an instrument, read a poem, perform a dance, or lip sync a song!? We are looking for great acts to perform and you don’t want to miss out! You may still submit a video of your performance to audition, please submit your entry ASAP, if you are hoping to be included, stop by and get the email from the main office, if you would like that option, we look forward to hearing your talent.

Avid Parent Night

● For ECHS, our AVID Parent Night is coming up tomorrow night, May 14th for our 9th and 10th graders. It will be held at Mission Mill from 7:00-8:30 pm. We want to celebrate all you have accomplished this year, so far, in AVID. Please look for the posters in the halls and the postcards that have been mailed home, and we want to see you all there!

Staff Appreciation Week!

● Welcome to Staff Appreciation Week!! We are so thankful for all of our staff and want them to feel special this week, and every week. Our student council members have some fun things planned for our staff this week, thank you for all you do!!

2019 Prom

● Prom was held this past Saturday night out at Illahe Hills Country Club!! It was an awesome night with great weather! We want to send out a HUGE thank you to all who helped make our prom a success. Thank you to all of the student council members that have helped on committees, ticket selling, and decorating, we could not have done it without you. Students, please take time today to thank the staff members that helped chaperone on Sat. night, we appreciate them so much!! The photos from Sat. night will be posted on our website very soon, so please check them out! If you missed out, please plan to attend next year!

During this evening event at McNary High School we will have ALL 29 private and public Oregon Colleges and Universities scheduled to attend the college fair in addition to 6 community colleges. The college Fair will take place from 6 – 7 PM and Educational College planning break out sessions will be from 7 – 8:30 PM Take advantage of this GREAT opportunity to explore Oregon college options. ● Abby’s Closet will be doing their 15th annual dress giveaway April 6th and 7th at the Portland convention center. Abby’s Closet will have 10,000 dresses to pick from that come with shoes, jewelry, makeup and accessories. To date, Abby’s Closet has given away over 20,000 dresses to local girls! Many dresses are BRAND NEW and need somewhere to dance! Bring your friends and shop the LARGEST prom dress selection in the country! We have sizes 000-30+ in every style imaginable!
